What learners can expect

  1. Translate stakeholder needs and operating context into solution-neutral measures, constraints, and engineering problems.
  2. Write atomic measurable requirements, acceptance criteria, traceability, and change-impact links.
  3. Create functional/physical architectures and controlled interfaces with justified modularity.
  4. Close mass, energy, data, cost, and lifecycle budgets with first-order models, margin, reserve, and uncertainty.
  5. Perform transparent multiobjective trade studies, Pareto analysis, uncertainty/sensitivity, and decision records.
  6. Analyse failure modes, reliability logic, common causes, technical risks, mitigations, triggers, and residual evidence.
  7. Design prototypes/tests and distinguish requirement verification, stakeholder validation, and acceptance evidence.
  8. Design maintainability/configuration/retirement processes and defend the system through evidence-based technical reviews.
